Characterisation of soil improvers, new organic fertilisers and treated manure

DO YOU KNOW THE PROPERTIES OF YOUR PRODUCT?

For several decades now, an increasing number of organic residual flows have been recycled as organic fertilisers or soil improvers. Think of manure processing products, digestate, products based on sludge or waste water, incineration ash, solid and liquid products, pellets, biochar, etc. However, the range of products is very diverse and their properties vary.

WHAT CAN WE DO FOR YOU?

  • Classic chemical analysis of soil improvers
  • Determination of effective organic matter on the basis of incubation tests (OVAM protocol)
  • Biochemical determination of the stability of organic matter (cell wall components)
  • Determination of "fast-release organic N" for registration as slow-release organic fertiliser (approved by the VLM fertiliser bank)
  • Pot tests to determine P2O5 and/or K2O availability
  • Field trials can be carried out using ILVO’s set of fully adapted field equipment.

ILVO AS A RESEARCH PARTNER

ILVO carries out research projects in collaboration with several partners and works directly for a number of companies. The aim is always to map the functioning of the different products in the soil. New research techniques can be discussed and worked out together.
