ILVO food technologist L. Herman on safety of 12 insects for human consumption

Food technologist and head of the ILVO Technology and Food Science Unit, Lieve Herman and her colleagues from the High Council for Health and the Scientific Committee of the federal agency for food safety (FAVV) have made a coordinated recommendation about consumption of insects in Belgium. Eating the 12 authorised insect species is safe if the consumer follows the governmental recommendations.
