Application requirements

To ensure a high-quality, meaningful experience for the attendees, the PhD Winter School requires an application in the form of a long abstract submitted to the academic committee. Upon acceptance of the abstract, the student may register and will be required to submit a full-length paper by 1 January 2012. The PhD Winter School is open to PhD students at any stage of their PhD career: those just starting their PhD, those in the middle, and some close to completion. Post-doctoral and senior researchers will attend and give input.

Abstract submission

The long abstract (1000 words) is due by September 30, 2011, along with the two other application forms.

Ghent University Doctoral Schools - ECTS

The PhD Winter School is included as a course of Ghent University Doctoral Schools. More information to follow soon.

Objective

The PhD Winter School will provide a forum for PhD students to present ongoing research in a collaborative environment and share ideas with other young researchers. Participants will be able to discuss their research ideas and results, and receive constructive feedback from their peers as well as senior researchers in their respective research areas. It will also be an excellent networking opportunity.
